On a hot, dry day, a thirsty crow flew over the land in search of water. After a long search, the crow finally spotted a pitcher by the side of the road. Excited, he flew down and peered inside. To his dismay, there was only a little water at the bottom—far too low for his beak to reach.
The crow tried to tip the pitcher over, but it was too heavy. He pushed, pulled, and even tried to stick his head deeper, but nothing worked. For a moment, he thought of giving up.
Then, the crow had an idea.
One by one, he began picking up small pebbles and dropping them into the pitcher. With each pebble, the water level slowly rose. The crow kept going—patiently and persistently—until the water reached the brim. At last, the crow was able to drink and satisfy his thirst.
Moral of the Story
“Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Use your intelligence and persistence to solve problems.
This fable teaches that even difficult problems can be solved with patience, creativity, and clever thinking. Instead of giving up when things seem out of reach, think, adapt, and take small steps toward your goal.
